Christopher Peter Meloni was an American actor who is famous for his role on the popular TV show Law & Order Special Victims Unit'. In college, he began to take an interest in acting. At the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. He's appeared in TV and films, however it was his small-screen characters that brought him fame and an extensive following. He has the ability to portray both characters from the side of the police and the other. This is the reason that has made him so popular. He was the voice of a serial killer in his debut television show and then went on to portray the character that of a NYPD detective. In recognition of his performance on the smaller screen, he's been up for nomination many times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards. He is famous by his blue piercing eyes, which have become a signature and helped create a charismatic character for tough roles. The actor was featured in People's magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
